Weird BSOD issue error code 41, kernel power

    (Windows 7 64 bit)

ok ive been reading thru what alot of people have been doing for the blue screen and all and i havnt seen anything like what ive been having problems with. i have gotten a blue screen three seperate times while one just being on the internet, and the other two times while playing supreme commander demo(wanna see if i want to buy it lol). i understand it could be the demo but after reading what people say the error message means i didnt know how it could be from the game. its just weird bc this error seems to be with power saving and all, but i am getting it while in a game...

i dont quite know what types of problems i could be having but also i will say every now and then whether playing a game or surfing the internet the entire computer will lock up. for about 30 seconds or so then just come back to normal. whether on the internet or in a game, although the mouse is able to move.

Could the soundcard cause these types of issues bc i havnt been able to load like realtek or anything for it where i can adjust levels and all. i did load the soundmax drivers and all for it which are up to date.

i guess these three issues have just become odd and confusing lol and i hope i can get them figured out, which is why i came on here!

    Hi modzey,
blue screens are usually driver related, are all yours up to date? Thats including motherboard/chipset, graphics, sound (I know you said sound was up to date) and anything else that might be relevant. Also is you bios the latest version?

Another source of blue screens can be either heat related or power (PSU not powerfull enough)...

the only drivers that i am not sure about is the bios. i havnt touched the bios at all. the graphics driver is up to date, sound is up to date, motherboard is as up to date i believe, the chipset i have not updated, however i have gone into device manager and checked everything in there and it says there are all up to date. i dont have anything else on this computer currently. Firmware i dont know about, also i dont know where to update firmware at...

as for the heat and power i have a thermaltake 600w ps with 2 12 volt rails combined to 29 amps. i have been watching the heat and the mobo runs at 41-43c at idle and 45-46c in a game. the cpu runs at 30c idle, nb is about 40-43c at idle (with the intake air at 30c).

i guess the bios, firmware, and maybe the mobo may not be up to date, i am not sure where to even see if i have the surrent firmware or mobo...

The Event viewer log would lead me to think SATA controler possibly chipset driver. I've seen similar situations with SATA cables being bad/loose as well .I feel as though i've read about alot of blue screens on the forum involving nVidya chipsets i would look those over very closely and try to find nVidya drivers for everything that doesn't have one.

    Hi modzey,
    thanks for the updates..
Well usually it's best to have the latest bios and the changes that a new bios brings aren't always best advertised (blame the board makers). As I'm sure your aware though, flashing the bios can kill the motherboard unless it's done correctly.
Could you list your motherboard for me and I'll do some checking....

Never mind it might be this that or the other....do this:

Go to this url: Crash Dumps - Analyse Bugcheck and Process - Vista Forums

Read it! do what it says!

If it is not clear what to do ask me but you must get used to using the crash dump analysis tool. It is free from Microsoft and not much is. When you load the memory dump file into it it will connect to the net and come back with an answer and will, point you where to look. BSODs are usually very simple to fix
