    Re: 7E/bcmwl664.sys error message

Under the Network Adapters list in Device Manager I don't have Broadcom NetXtreme 57xxGigabit Controller, only Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter (and an Atheros ethernet controller)

My device ID isn't listed on the Broadcom website (DEV_4357) and the only ones I can find via Google (which match laptop model number/OS) seem to be for a 4312 driver.
ACER Aspire 5332 Wireless LAN Driver v.5.60.18.8 download for Windows 7, Windows 7 64-bit This is the closest I can find. Given that the driver version is the same (5.60.18.8) is it worth a download/install anyway?

I've attached a screenshot of device manager/network adapters, just in case I'm doing something horribly wrong.

As for Alcohol120%, you've really confused me there. I've never heard it and I can't find it installed on my computer nor can I find any drivers to update with on their website?

Apologies for my ignorance, this is all rather new to me.

EDIT: I probably should have mentioned this earlier I bought my laptop as a refurbished model. Could this be why the driver ID I have is different to what is listed online for my model?

Edit 2: I'm not using McAfee. The computer came installed with a 60 day free trial but I uninstalled it and I am using MSE.

They must be left over from the first owner/install? I'd check your add and remove programs and just see what's there. As for drivers try here: Download Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter and Upgrade your Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP with the Latest Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter

No sign of McAfee or Alcohol120% in add/remove programs, strange.

RadarSync tells me there's 22 outdated drivers on my computer (which doesn't surprise me) but then tells me it's £20 to pay for the program to download and install the drivers. I'm not totally against paying for things but £20 for a driver I'm not even certain will fix the problem seems like a waste of money to me.
