    Frequent blue screen crash problem

    Hello,

I've encountered numerous crashes while gaming, watching videos and just plain web-surfing. Tried updating all my hardware drivers, uninstalling Avast Internet Security and the problem still persists and I hope someone in this forum could help me with this problem. I have more than 30 crash dump files but I'll only upload a few because it seems to be the same cause. If you need further information regarding my system please ask me.

    [PC Specs]
    Windows 7 Pro 64 bit
AMD A8-3850 APU with Radeon Graphics 2.90 Ghz
    8.00 GB RAM
Secondary display driver AMD Radeon HD 6670 1GB
1TB Samsung HD103SJ hard drive and 1TB WDC WD10EARS-00MVWB0 hard drive

Thank you in advance for helping me solve this issue, dump file is attached below.

Re: Frequent blue screen crash problem

Please provide this information for a more complete analysis: How to ask for help with a BSOD problem

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems.
Please un-install all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Uninstall". Reboot for changes to take affect.
Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

Please uninstall AppleCharger (Gigabyte On/Off) as it is known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems. Once the system is stabilized, feel free to install a fresh copy and see if it works w/o BSOD's.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): [DEL] DuplexSecure - FAQ [/DEL] Link broken as of 21 Jul 2012
New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads
    Alternate link: Disc-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

If you have a wireless USB XBox controller, please uninstall it's software and remove the device from the system. They are known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems - and there are no driver updates available.

If these steps don't fix the problem with BSOD's, then please start with these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics

Re: Frequent blue screen crash problem

Thanks for the reply John, your efforts are very much appreciated.

Okay, I'm having problems using the SF diagnostics tool that you've advised me to use. The only option that works is 'System Information' and the rest all had errors in running them. The error message was there is an unhandled exception and the files etc. couldn't be found. These errors were shown when I clicked on drivers list, MSinfo 32, HOSTS, Minidump and etc. (Tried the "Take Ownership" method to no avail, many of my system files such as 'AppData' and 'Minidump' can't be fully owned using that method but it works on some other files though.) So I went ahead and uninstalled all AMD files and the DAEMON tools as instructed and now I'm going to reboot and see what happens. No BSOD's in the past hour or so when I was streaming a video which crashed 3 times consecutively in the past hour before.

Re: Frequent blue screen crash problem

Try this method for the MSINFO32 report:
    MSINFO32:
Please go to Start and type in "msinfo32.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Save the report as an .nfo file, then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
Also, save a copy as a .txt file and include it also (it's much more difficult to read, but we have greater success in getting the info from it).

If you're having difficulties with the format, please open an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt and type "msinfo32 /nfo C:\Users\Public\Desktop\TEST.NFO" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Then navigate to the C:\Users\Public\Desktop directory to retrieve the TEST.NFO file. If you have difficulties with making this work, please post back.

Currently my system is running pretty smoothly after re-installation of AMD drivers but I will post back if anything or nothing happens. Attached both the files you've asked for below.
    Thanks a bunch!

    [Update]
Just encountered a BSOD after watching a video in full screen on a website and great, it's not solved..

Re: Frequent blue screen crash problem

Please zip up and upload the most recent memory dumps (if in doubt, just zip them all up and I'll sort them). They're located in C:\Windows\Minidump

    You have this problem device:
Not Available PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_780B&SUBSYS_43851458&REV_13\3&18D45AA6&0&A0 The drivers for this device are not installed.
The MSINFO32 report shows that you have the ATI Hydravision and the ATI Vision Engine Control Center stuff installed - which shouldn't have happened if you'd followed my suggestion about the driver installation. Did you follow my suggestion from my first post (about the DRIVER ONLY installation)?

Gigabyte EasySaver and EasyTune6 (ET6) are known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems. Please un-install them immediately.

What device is that exactly? I've uninstalled the drivers and installed it back using the AMD Catalyst program. I'm going to redo the install again as I made a mistake with the driver only installation process. There's a problem uninstalling EasyTune6, nothing came up as I tried to uninstalling via control panel. Will try again later.

Re: Frequent blue screen crash problem

I've done a drivers only installation and I've attached my new MSINFO32 files. I still have trouble uninstalling the Gigabyte stuff and the EasyTune and I think the application is not working properly anyways. What do you suggest I do? One more question, without the AMD Catalyst Manager, how am I going to enable dual-graphics? Any clues?

Re: Frequent blue screen crash problem

The device is either an SMBus controller or an ATI PCIe (3GIO) Filter Driver (I suspect it's the latter).

I've reviewed the memory dumps and there's still traces of the programs that I asked you to remove. I suspect that these memory dumps are from before you got around to removing them - so I suggest we wait and see if there's any more. If there are, zip them up and upload them with your next post.

In short, we're still at the stage where we're ruling out 3rd party drivers. If we rule out the third party drivers and the system still BSOD's, then we'll have to start hardware diagnostics.

As for the dual-graphics, I'm afraid that I'm not well versed in that. I'd have to suggest that you discuss it in the Graphics forums here AFTER we've stopped the BSOD's: Windows 7 Graphics

Re: Frequent blue screen crash problem

Okay, I had a crash last night after all the fresh install of the AMD drivers and this time the BSOD has stated that the program "fltmanager.exe" is the cause of it. So now it seems its a heating issue? I've attached a dump file of that particular BSOD. Thanks for all the advice that you've given me, so what am I supposed to do now? I removed DAEMON and corrected the STPD driver, uninstalled AOD drivers. The only one I couldn't get rid of is EasyTune 6, how can remove it cleanly without an uninstaller?
