    is it dumb to just re install windows? i figured it couldnt hurt then that way ill get a pretty definite answer on whether its hardware or software problems.

    That will help to speed up the troubleshooting process a bit.

    Well since i said i was gonna do a complete install it worked just fine since then until last night i got another BSOD with the same 1e code. idk what else to do, but its really trying on my patience. grrrrrr

    If you followed the "clean" install process - then the next step is to test hardware.

    Please run these free hardware tests: Hardware Diagnostics

    Although your BIOS dates from 2011, it's advisable to check and see if there are any updates available (see the Usual Causes section of this link: BSOD Index - STOP 0x1E ) Be careful updating the BIOS as mistakes can damage your hardware.
