Re: Random BSOD mostly when playing

    For the uploads:
    - open up a Windows Explorer window, navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump, and left click once on the first file.
    - then hold down the "Shift" key and left click once on the last file
    - this'll highlight all the files. Then right click on the highlighted area and select "Send to", then select "compressed (zipped) folder"
    - then attach the .zip folder in your next post.

And, to obtain a more detailed analysis - please provide this information: How to ask for help with a BSOD problem

SP1 has just been installed. Visit Windows Update repeatedly until no new updates are found. Install all available updates.

You have a wireless USB XBox controller. These are known to cause BSOD's - and there aren't any updated drivers available for it. Please un-install the software/drivers for this device, then unplug the device from your system. See if this stops the BSOD's.

Please visit the Toshiba website and update ALL Toshiba software/drivers that are available there. Select to update anything dated 2009 and later.

amdxata.sys is a storage driver on your system. When SP1 isn't installed you'll see it with a date of 2009 - once SP1 is installed you'll see it with a later date. Since yours doesn't have the later date you'll need to visit Windows Update repeatedly until you get all available updates (to include the optional updates).

K i did this too... also i installed latest drivers for my xbox controller.

Toshiba bt drivers are uninstalled like i said (using ms bt stack right now)

Is it sure that the bsod is caused by drivers? (I would be happy if it was)

Dont know if i should do it.. but a also downloaded latest chipset drivers and and intel RST from the asus homepage...

Re: Random BSOD mostly when playing

In the land of BSOD analysis - nothing is 100% sure.
We try stuff and then we wait and see if it fixed things.

FYI - here's the frequency that the problems occur in (so it's the order that we troubleshoot in also):
    - 3rd party (non-Windows) drivers (by far the most frequent cause)
    - hardware
    - Windows (least frequent cause)

While it's easiest to get the Intel drivers from Asus - they're likely to not be the latest available version.
The latest version would be available at the Intel Download Center ( http://downloadcenter.intel.com )

The XBox controller drivers haven't been updated since 2009 - and it's the 2009 drivers that are causing the problems these days.
If you want to use it anyway, first be sure that the BSOD's have stopped and then reinstall the XBox controller drivers again. That way, if you get a BSOD, you'll know that it's most likely caused by the controller.

It looks like you've fixed all the suspected 3rd party driver issues.
That leaves us with either hardware or Windows

As hardware is most likely, please start with these free diagnostic tests: Hardware Diagnostics
Let us know the results of each test and we'll move on from there.

Re: Random BSOD mostly when playing

You really think its my Hardware?

Like i said its a completely new System... no old Hardware!

I dont know but somehow i think its Windows... My Windows DVD is a bit screwed up... When i inserted it into my DVD-Burner it was really loud...

I was able to install it as u can see... but maybe there are some broken files? Is that possible?

You still think i should test hardware first? I mean.. those tests take more than 20 hours to go while a new Windows installation would take +-2 hours

Is there a test to check my Systemfiles for functionality?

    One more BSOD now. *sigh*
    100912-8221-01.dmp

    I also found some suspicious things in my task manager;

    - Windows Live messenger process has ~20% cpu usage (normally it should be zero.. bumping up to 1-2% time to time)
    - Trustedinstall.exe or Trustedinstaller.exe comes randomly and takes 25% Cpu usage

There was another process taking that much cpu usage... but i dont know which exactly... but it was something of Windows!

Re: Random BSOD mostly when playing

If you have reason to suspect your Windows installation, then by all means test the Windows first.
But, what if your DVD burner is broken (does it sound loud with any DVD you put in?)

Some of the symptoms that you describe could be related to malware - there's anti-malware scans listed in the hardware diagnostics link that I provided in my previous post.

To test the Windows files - run "sfc.exe /scannow" (without the quotes) from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt.

The latest memory dump is a STOP 0x101 - and they are more frequently hardware problems than almost any other error code (with the exception of STOP 0x124). That doesn't mean it's hardware - just that it's more likely.

Finally, if you suspect your DVD, get another copy of it from the people who sold it to you. If that's not practical, you may want to download a fresh copy (and verify the MD5 hash) from Digital River. Try this link as I wasn't able to find the actual link at Digital River myself: Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River л My Digital Life
