   Export only that key to save services settings. Exporting the whole thing is not a good thing as all is not saved and so much changes every second you can mess up things trying to put back a whole if...

   you can export HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services from the registry and save.

   Right click start > properties > start menu > customize > click radio button for computer to display as a link. Hope this helps.

   yeah its the customize button, sorry but my windows is in dutch so i translated it literally what it said on my windows :)
