A couple of guys came around with this big red button and asked me to look after it . They told me not to press it unless I was tipped the wink .

That's probably just the Staples "Easy Button", to help him get fast delivery of office supplies from Staples. Probably wouldn't do you any good since I don't believe you have Staples Stores in the UK. But you can always try pressing it, what could possibly go wrong.
