    Duke Nukem fan based trailer

Well, movies take "4ever" to make

    What
has probably been one of the longest running jokes in the industry has now been revived as a fan-made trailer, looking to become a movie. Yes, we’re talking about the Duke Nukem saga, which can easily be called a saga in real life as well, what with all the we’re-almost-theres and when-its-dones we’ve heard ever since it was announced in 1997.

We were just about to get cracking on our arsenal of jokes, but alas, a quick review of 3DRealms’ site confirmed that we shouldn’t bother. The site reads:”And yes, we know the game has taken a long time. There's no possible joke you could make about the game's development time that we haven't already heard. ”. Well, as one smart man once said, why does it have to be a joke? How about a riddle? Come to think of it, you can’t put a living riddle into a linguistic riddle, so we’ll just drop it.

The trailer, which shows a “babe” running away from the mighty Pig-Cop was developed by a Finnish studio HMC. We’re not sure whether these guys will ever manage to actually the movie, especially knowing that a similar situation with Zelda fan-made movie was drawn to a close by Nintendo’s orders. Still, it’s a nice and easy to digest trailer, which still features the original Megadeth soundtrack – so a great one to get your hopes up in the 2010. And be sure to check out the ending - classic Duke indeed.

You can check out the trailer here.

    Seriously, dead silent

The voice of the glorious babe-saver and planet-guardian, Duke Nukem, has recently silently confirmed that Duke Nukem Forever is still in the pipes. While we appreciate the info, we can’t help but wonder about the length of these pipes, as they seem to make the Great Wall of China look impish in comparison.

In a panel at the Music and Games Festival held in Virginia, Jon St. John said how he’s not allowed to speak on the subject, and further reinforced his statement by repeating it to the group of journalists.

Immediately after the crowd reacted with disappointment, St. John introduced a “but” – the kind we always love to hear. St. John added “No, no, don’t be disappointed, read between the lines… why am I not allowed to talk about it?” That’s all he needed to say. I just hope the pipeline doesn’t stretch out to my lifetime, although beginning and ending your gaming habit with Duke wouldn’t be half bad.

It’s well worth noting that Duke Nukem’s Facebook page has recently posted a screenshot named Duke Nukem D-Day, but info is scarce as usual so any claims are out the window. You can check out the screenshot here.

You can see the video here, where Jon St. John does his silent maneuver (not that kind of silent maneuver), and shows that he still has what it takes to make Duke come to life.
