Exclamation optical drive wont read any dvd/cd including windows 7 original dvd

    hi everyone,
me and my boyfriend just built a new pc and everything went well except when we inserted the windows 7 dvd..the optical drive does not read it..it only gives us a readme file which says that i have the original copy.
    the new pc has:
ASUS P5QL/EPU LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard
    Intel Pentium E5200 Wolfdale 2.5GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80571E5200
GIGABYTE GV-N84S-512I GeForce 8400 GS 512MB 64-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card
    Kingston HyperX T1 Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KHX8500D2T1K2/4G

the windows 7 i have is
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders - OEM

    i have a 650W power supply

i have 2 Western Digital Internal Hard Drive which have Windows XP SP2 in it but it says its not genuine as my uncle installed it for me..

the optical drive i have is
SAMSUNG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner Black IDE Model SH-S222L LightScribe Support

we tried installing the firmware of the optical driver but it did not work
we also tried to put an old HP optical IDE drive and it did not read the windows 7 dvd as well..
also tried using a different IDE ribbon but still didnt work..

any idea how to fix this will be appreciated. let me know if u need more info about the new pc.

Have you tried a USB DVD Drive? Another option is to install Win7 via a bootable USB FlashDrive.

You might check your BIOS.... you may need a BIOS upgrade.
