Connecting to a Shared Printer on Win7
I have a simple Inkjet connected to my desktop PC via a USB cable.
I have it share over my local home network.
The Computer i am attpemting to connect to the shared printer is running Vista. I can browse the network, and can see the shared printer, but when i attempt to browse, or add a shared printer, i keep receiving this error msg:
The server for the "Cannon Inkjet iP6310C" printer does not have the correct print driver installed.
I have downloaded and installed the Canon driver on the Vista machine, as well as the Windows 7 box.
There is an item with the printers folder. When i double click this folder, i again see the canon inkjet print que, but I am un-able to connect to the printer.
I have tried just about everything, and am at the point of giving up.
I have tried to add a local printer, and to add a port pointing to the share computer, but i get an access denied msg which i can not get around.
Please help if you can
Thank you
David
