Yeah, done this myself - was running Window 2008 Server Standard in "Client mode" for quite some time before I installed the first Windows 7 Beta. It was way better behaved than Vista! Will be thinking about the same when Win 2k8 R2 is out. It's nice to have all the networking options of the server version.

Yeah, I was using it when Win7 7260 x86 came out, as it was the only 64 bit leak. I liked it, and am seriously considering using the Server R2 RTM when it comes out.
