Earlier than restore point allows

Earlier than restore point allows
So I managed to screw up my registry by playing haphazardly with permissions. But when I tried to use system restore to set everything back to the good old days, the only dates available are from the past few hours in which I've been uninstalling/reinstalling the program I was having trouble with (iTunes won't play songs anymore). I'd like to revert to a few days ago.
I have backed up my C: drive to an external drive using backup and restore--and can there are dates available there from before I started messing things up. Is it possible to just restore the registry to one of those earlier dates (a week ago, for example) using Backup and Restore instead of System Restore? If so, how should I go about doing it?
Thanks,
Steve

No. If there are no restore points available, then you can not go back to what does not exist.
Back and Restore (unfortunately I am not familiar with it as I don't use it), I don't think you can, unless it also backed up the registry. But I doubt it.
