Will Office 2007 student purchased for XP work on Windows 7?

I am sure this is absolutely ridiculous, but I cannot find a direct answer; so if there is one, please guide me with a link. I have seen similar question, but not same questions.

About two years ago I bought a new desktop, OS is XP. I also purchased Office 2007 Student as my productivity toolset.
I am now able to get a laptop with which I would like to move forward into the future by getting Windows 7. I do not want to buy Office 2007 again, nor will I get a new machine if I have to.
