changed "Open with" and can't change it back

I did by a mistake change the standard
"open with" when i was trying to load
a mod into a game i changed a program (exe)
to a winrar file and alle files on my pc with .exe
has been changed and cannot be used
I have even tried to use regedit.reg but without luck
plz help

You might try opening a command prompt window. Type the following command and see what it reports.

assoc .exe

If it shows =exefile, this association is already set. If it shows something else, type this:

assoc .exe=exefile

This should reset at least part of the associations, but may not solve all problems.

Edit: If you can't open a command prompt, by the normal method, or double clicking it, we will have to try another method.

Try starting your PC in "Safe Mode" and perform a "System Restore" to a point before you made the change. This should solve all the problems.
