Having trouble with Windows Update and Windows installer? Check this solution.

Sorry for the spam-like thread title.

I've been having problems with Windows Update crashing Windows Explorer, and Windows Installer also crashing, and after googling i found this blog post that solved my issue, so check it if you're having problems like this:

go into the registry
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions
rename MachineThrottling to _MachineThrottling
and presto

fixed my msi installer "bug" error . net start MSIServer did not work for me, kept failing .
so far 0 msi installer crashes

I started getting that error on Update this morning. That fixed it.
