Where is email prog? And other issues...

I just installed Win7-RC to my new Intel SSD. It went well. BUT, where the heck is the email program? I can't find it...DUH. And, for now I'm using Cox webmail...YUCK...

Also, here is a 'HighjackThis' logfile of my startup items.... what's up w/ some of these? I want as few things running (progs & processes) in background as possible...son and I are online 'gamers' and want the comp running as fast as possible.

Well, I can only answer the part about the e-mail program...

Microsoft had to remove it and some other tasty features found in Vista and before due to Licensing issues. Now we all have to deal with Windows Live Mail if you want to stay with Microsoft, or you can go open-source and try out Thunderbird.

I got the office suite from my job, so I took Outlook back...

If you want more info on why they took that stuff away from W7, here is the link...

    Ah, now I see...

As for the other stuff, it looks like its just the normal startup services and things used when starting up windows...

The first chunk refers to the registry entries W7 uses to find the Startup programs and services, the second chunk is the actual log of the system starting them up.

The bad thing is that according to your log file, a lot of these files have been deleted or moved because the system can't find them. If you want to stop some of them from starting up, there is a safe way to do it... But deleting them is not the answer, here's more info on that if you want it.

Yes, it's true. Windows 7 no longer includes Outlook Express. Instead they
require you to download an email client and "encourage" you download their
media center. Mail - Windows Live

After I downloaded it and set it up it looks pretty much like Outlook Express
and was configured to send and receive my mail and I had all the folders and
messages I had saved in Outlook Expressed.

Be aware that the option to filter/delete email that has attachments is
turned ON. So if someone sends you an attachment (other than a text file or
photo) you won't get the email unless you have turned OFF this filter. ...under
    Safety opptions / security.
