Installed Win7 on Sony VGN-S360p cannot get video driver

After installing downloading most xp drivers from sony and installing them, I cannot get the video to work. The max resolution i can get to is 1024.768. I've looked around for many fixes but none of them work.
    ATI Mobilityâ„¢ Radeon
® 9700- the type of card on mobo. I did the Windows update but after restarting windows blue screens and tries to do a repair. Does anyone have a solution?

I've tried the solutions on these forums

    Thanks
