High pitched tone after returning from sleep/hibernation
Hi all,
I've been using Windows 7 since August courtesy of MSDNAA and for the most part I like but I find myself effectively unable to use sleep or hibernation because when I come from either there's a piercing tone coming from my speakers that occurs whenever I have an application that has sound running. When I restart the application the squeal might stop but it's replaced with a loud hissing. I have an Asus A8Js laptop with an HD Audio device. I've tried updating to the Realtek drivers from a couple of days ago (R235), but Windows refuses to update from the Microsoft HD Audio drivers. Any ideas, guys?
Thanks!

Hey guys,
Turns out I'm a big dummy. The sound controller is a SoundMAX chip, not Realtek. I got the 6.10.2.6570 SoundMAX driver from Asus support and had to slightly change platform.cfg to get it to install. If anybody had a similar problem, I'll elaborate. But either way, hissing and squealing are gone! Finally have all my devices working 100% (2 months later)
Thanks anyway!
