    Notification Area Icons

Previously I had a program installed. I removed the program completely but it still shows up in the "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Notification Area Icons" as HMonitor.exe. I ran a complete search and nothing comes up anywhere. How can I remove this entry from the Notification Area Icons?

it will not appear in your notification area. windows just keeps track of all the icons that appeared there so you can set the settings for programs currently not running. I think at some point it deletes items that havn't been used for a while, but it doesn't matter.
anyways, as long as the icon doesn't actually appear in your notification area this is normal and your program is still gone.

you could also try one of those uninstaller programs, that might get rid of it
