Recently my monitor broke. I just came home one day and there was a dim orange light, much dimmer than when it is in power save mode. So I try moving the mouse, pressing enter, trying to wake it up but it doesn't come alive. I figure something in it's circuit board blew, so I switched monitors. Problem is now, that when I start my computer, it gets past the initial white text but immediately goes to the blank black screen with the white flashing cursor in the top left. I can't get all the way through the boot sequence so I can't update any drivers.

I just can't imagine what else it could be because the only thing I've changed is my monitor...

Help please
