IE can connect to the internet but nothing else can

Okay, so for a long time i've had this problem. I have tried many ways to fix it, but nothing works

I have no Proxy
I can obviously connect to the internet.
Ive tried the firewall. even turning it off all together.
Uhmm, I cant think of other ways Ive tried right off the top of my head right now.
But ill let you know if ive tried anything you think of

Ive tried Skype, Firefox, iTunes, The Hp help support thing that always pops up wont connect, AVG cant connect anymore to update, PLay HP games wont work either, etc etc
But IE does.

Anyways to fix this problemm?? Any ideas at all??

Hey...

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools | Internet Options | Connections Tab | Lan settings

Uncheck all the boxes there then ok your way out and close I.E.

Yes. You likely have some sort of dns issue and/or the Bonjour service installed.

Do you have mdnsreponder.exe in the task manager?

I will have further help and steps to take regardless, dependent on your answer to the above question.

It would also be helpful to type msinfo32 in the start menu and hit enter. File | save on the screen that opens. Zip the saved file and attach to a post using the paperclip above where you type, in advanced mode reply.
