Hi,

sorry for bringing this thread up again, but this one matches exactly the problem I am facing right now.

My system is pretty much the same as that one meantioned by the thread starter.

I get the same problems as he: In the beginning, the sound is good. After that i degrades by being noisy, crackling an popping and finally it stops working. And the most strange thing in all of this is that all the play heads in for example youtube or the VLC just don't move anymore.

The problems started for me as I connected the Focustrite Saffire 6 USB. I use this for ASIO recording stuff primarily but sometimes I would like to use ist as Windows soundcard in order to not always connect the headphones from the onboard jacks to the Focusrite jack.

The ASIO is working good and reliable after system start. When I start to use it in any other Windows application the problems begin.
Then, even ASIO is affected.

It also happens when I use the Reatek soundcard as Windows playback device and in paralel the focusrite. Both become noisy and in the end they stop working.

I disabled the Realtek stuff in the Bios in order to only have one sound device installed but still the problems occure. I checked all different USB connectors on my board but no differences.

All drivers are up to date. However, I also tried to change the USB drivers by Intel against the standard drivers by Microsoft. No change . . .

What can I do? It is really frustration because I just want to enjoy my hobby: Making an dlistening to music.

Regards,
Maik
