    Mouse pointer opening item with no double click

    Touch pad on laptop
    Hoovering over an item opens it.
    What happened to double click.
    I have restored defaults in folder options, mouse properties
    and ease of accsess center.
    External mouse via usb port works perfect?
    Driving me crazy

    Make sure you have the latest Windows 7 driver installed from the laptop manufacturer. Then use that utility from within the Control Panel to adjust the sensitivity, maybe even consider turning off the tap / click feature.
