    Problem with speakers

    Details: its win 7 ultimate
    Aspire D255
    Intel atom processor N550 1.5ghz 1mb l2 cache
    1gb ddr3 memory

    Problem: when i open the notebook and the sounds are enabled or even if i put music on the speakers will just give off a sound that is irritating to the ears....its like a frequency sound or something its like....a bit painful in the ears...and i dunno why it sounds like that

    Might possibly be feedback. Have you tried turning down the volume or muting the microphone?

    I will assume you are referring to the built in speakers..?

    ahh...yep i tried muting mic..disabling it and uninstalling the mic...still same...and yep im referring to internal speakers

    also tried doing in headphones...same result

    I can't really think of another reason your system would be having such a problem. If it was confined to only one type of sound file, I might understand.

    But all I can suggest is to reinstall the sound drivers. Maybe some codec has gotten messed up.

    If the unit is still in warranty, I would think about having it looked at by Aspire.

    well...i formatted my notebook and still same...reinstalled drivers from official website of acer still same it just clears a little but still same....could it be a wire?
