not sure if you have resolved this issue, but something I notice is that the networking functions are not switched on on the repair disk (which is useful)...what i do is boot off the repair disk, open the command line and type wpeinit and this will then allow your net use commands to complete properly...dont forget the basic networking commands like ipconfig /all to ensure that your interface has an IP address etc.

I find that once the wpeinit command has been run then all works fine and i dont need to move the backup folder.
