    Right clicking shortcuts with missing targets

    If I right click a shortcut that points to something that is no longer there (I moved it or deleted it) the system hangs for like 10 seconds. It's so annoying, is there a fix?

    Delete the shortcut.

    That's not the fix I'm looking for. I want to know why it takes 10+ seconds (maybe its searching for the new path of the file?) and how I can disable that.
