Image clean install & restore to subsequent HDD upgrade

    Good evening,

I am looking to upgrade a computer with two physical hard disk drives (one each for OS and data files) to Win 7. I would like do a clean install of Win 7, get it all patched up and with the requisite software, and then make an image on the data file hdd.

I believe that within a year I will be replacing the current OS hdd with a SSD drive. I would like to know if I can simply swap out the old OS hdd for the new and restore the image from the data hdd or if there is more to it than this.

Thank you in advance for your opinions.
